Sucks being a one-man-shop sometimes....

Been weird here.

We were swamped in September and busy organizing a large meet/open house for MR2 customers. The meet was 2 weeks ago. When the smoke cleared I realized we had finished most of our backlog and were suddenly hurting for work. I didn't sleep at all Wednesday night.

Out of no where on Thursday we got two big mail order sales and call backs from people we quoted over a year ago.

We are also working weekends and nights on our 24 hours of Lemons car (www.24hourlemons.com)

It's a 1986 Toyota MR2. The race in October will be it's second Lemons race. We ran in March and it got stuffed into the tire wall by a now ex team member who I literally have not spoken to since. We got re-evaluated at $100 giving us $400 to put back into the car. We couldn't (easily) find a 1986 front end so we grafted a 1993 front end on to it.

The race is the week after World Finals so I won't have time to go to Havasu this year :-(

Sounds like we need to pay you guys for products... It's good to see that you guys are dedicated enough to work those long hours so the customer can get what they want in a timely manner. That's certainly more than can be said for some of the top names out there.

Totally different work than u guys, but the hours and days are killin me. I haven't had a day off in about a month, and take off just before the sun comes up and get home after it is down, then do paperwork, phone calls etc... The last few days have been much easier. They felt like days off. Today is easier too, but the next month is going to be nutty. Hang tough guys! I'm feelin for ya.

At least you guys have jobs.

Been unemployed since March. Our unemployment rate in this county is over 14%, so no jobs to be found.

Luckily my old boss (who got laid off same time as me) just got hired as the manager of a new distribution company and he's in charge of hiring. Guess who he called first.... :fingersx:

I realized after I posted, the post seems like I am complaining. I was just bored sitting here watching the machine do it's thing.

I am glad I have business, because for awhile there, it was completely dead(and still isn't good), if I was an employee, I would have fired myself a long time ago.
