No, those are just front sponsons. The tubbies hang further off the hull, widening the over width of the hull.

werd.... tubbies are parabolic sponsons.... they stick out pretty far..

I would think that the front sponsons would be more suited to the race course for improved cornering ability, while the tubbies keep the nose up (to keep from subbing on you while in surf conditions) for freeriding.
