sano it looks like the pump area is chop only I can't tell if there is cloth in it at the back. I can see in other pics the lines from the cloth. just curious.

I would scuff up the areas to be repaired with some 36 grit and put like 3 layers in larger pieces each layer. make each layer extend at least 3 inches past the last one.

Got a piece of this material locally.l need to first soak it in epoxy resin,then wrap in fiberglass.Also need to wrap the edges with glass too(thanks Tem!). This should be hard as a rock and also very light.

The other pics are a size comparison to my fx1.

Oh and don't start no poop about the way the nose looks on the Stunt.lt is just laying on there!

I can't say for certain but any decent structural design will use more layers in critical areas and fewer in less than critical areas so it'd be tough to say.

You know,your right,that does look like something out of a flower shop! But no,it actually came from a local boat manufacturer.They use it mostly for curves on their boats.You first let epoxy soak into it completely.It gets hard enough to hit it with a hammer without breaking.Then layer with fiberglass on both sides and edges.Be using it for my bulhead.Plan on putting a layer of carbon fiber on one side too. l think it will work just fine.lf it doesn't work,l'll send you some flowers wrapped in it!

I saw a pic somewhere of the stunt's pump area with inserts installed and they looked like they were sticking out of the hull a good bit. Seeing how much grinding you did explains a lot about why the inserts looked like that.

Think of the stunts bulkhead like a monocoque chassis for a car or even a coupe instead of a convertible. It's integrated into the top and bottom decks and not really a separate piece and in return, this saves weight without necessarily compromising strength (if done right). There are a few guys that aren't confident with the lack of bulkhead so they are building a custom bulkhead. I'm a little hesitant but I'm open to new ideas and I know SuperJett did a similar concept in his build and has been running it like that for a while now.

that seems like alot of work , and alot of epoxy . Interesting idea though. cant wait to see how it works out for you . So .. this material will be your bulkhed ??? get to work on this I wanna see it !!!:Banane19:

lt does.Just like the idea of chad's build better.You could call it old school,but all your lines coming in are on a solid backing.

l'm still wondering how to install the hood liner onto the hood.Cause it doesn't really fit that well.Anybody got ideas???

Has anyone finished a build of a stunt hull ? Maybe I missed it, I am very interested to hear how it handles and performs with a 701 motor.
Also does it ride very different being so short ?
What is the ready to ride weight?

l can't wait,should be a handful!

l got a good bit done this weekend.Made the bulkhead and reinforced the bottom where the motor mounts go.May be overkill and added weight,but it can't hurt either. For the bulkhead l mixed up about 12 oz of epoxy and hardner and poured it onto the foam.Spread it out evenly,then just let it dry overnight.The pump area where it was thin from me grinding down to align the pump seal,got 3 layers of 12 oz biaxle glass this weekend.Today l cut the bulkhead out ,sanded, and then wrapped one side with glass too.Need to wrap the other side tomorrow.Been alot of work makeing this part,but this is my first time working with glass.Thought it would help me learn how to work with the materials without screwing up an important part!So far,so good.
