650/X-2 Stubby pump cone?

has anyone tried to extend the factory pipe 3" and how are you routing to dry out pipe and water box and what is a good prop for the 650sx??????????????

When you modify the stock 650sx pipe, you are essentially converting it to factory pipe water routing which makes it drier. I just did mine a few weeks ago and it definitely makes a good difference! Theres a good how to thread on pwc today. The thread says to redrill 1/8" but I went with 3/32" and got better results with no overheating. Using a modded 650sx pipe on a square nose works good but requires an aftermarket exhaust manifold which are very hard to find. Extending the chamber is supposed to help with low end, but I have never tried it.

In other news, I just recieved my stubby cone and installed it today. The GF actually ordered it for me from epicjetski.com. I'll post a pic here in a sec. We'll see if it makes a difference tomorrow.

i herd you lose some top end with a stubby pump cone is this true?

I rode with it today and I feel like there might be a very very tiny drop in top speed. I noticed more in the mid range, especially when getting back on after a fall or what not.
