Stripped Bolts

Today I installed my Kenney Keepers. Everything was going great until I tried putting the new bolt into one side of the engine mount (pipe side). It appears as is the threads were stripped, and the bolt won't tighten enough!!! :261: The front bolt on the mount is fine, so I applied some Gorilla Glue temporarily to the stripped out one until I figure out what to do to fix it. Can anyone point me in the right direction for an easy solution? I am pretty sure it won't present a major problem for basic riding, but if I hit the surf again I am not going to feel too confident unless that bolt is secure.

yeah, that sucks. I'm not sure how thick that insert is. it may not be able to be opened up to take a helicoil. you may need to replace the insert.

try a heli coil first (one that wont corrode)

I could be that the insert is loose and not stripped. You would have to take the engine out to figure it out.

I pulled the pipe to get at it, but I am hoping I can pull off a quick fix with it instead of yanking the whole motor. Helicoil, eh? Where can I find one of those? Lowe's?

Did the kenny keepers come with longer bolts? If not, just get a longer bolt. Other wise oh crap! I believe McMaster Carr sells stainless steel inserts.
