Super Jet striped inserts

so the last time i rode my ski the intake grate striped the inserts in my hull. I am going to just helicoil them, but wanted to see if any one had any other ideas.

Only other idea I have is drill and tap it to accept a larger bolt....but I would just helicoil it.

I guess it's worth a try....
Are you sure that the insert is wasted? Usually the bond to the hull is the issue. A good insert spins....if the bond is broken.

Most often caused by not cleaning prior to installing new parts,

i think its wasted, i bought a new wr201 to replace it and inserted the bolts that came with it and they seem to have a lot of play (slop) in them. i just want to make sure that im not going to lose another intake grate and pump shoe which it also removed.

I have a worx 201 as well. "slop" has never been an issue.... (it's been in and out a lot of times)

maybe some new inserts and some good epoxy resin. Can't cost much more than .//....Doing it 2x
