That is what mine looked like except the bars touched the cabel holder thingy in the middle

Did the same thing to mine, and used it all summer. Got some 6061 from a local metal shop to make the bars.
i made this one for a square. bringing the bars to the pivot wouldve made for a LOT more chinpad modification.
i also modded a UMI plate on my wife's square and brought the straight bars about 3/8" (i think) from the bearing cup.

I'd forgot about that. I had this on my square pole first and had to cut the chinpad some. I just cut the plastic up to where it bolts to the pole. I got a round pole and chinpad, and it works without cutting the pad.
