Stop switch issue

Alright, so lately I have been having issues getting my SJ 650 to fire up. Finally found out it is the stop switch wiring; when i disconnected the connector in the hull it would fire right up, when I plugged it in it died. I first thought it was the connector in the hull as it had a bit of blue corrosion on it. So I cut it out and removed it and about 4"of blackened wire. replaced with a new connector and fresh wiring. And I still can't get it fire with the new connectors. Any ideas would and the next step would be great, because right now i am debating tearing out all the wiring

thanks man, i will take the start/stop switch apart in the am and see if that helps
