Stock superjet carbs - 2005

[2005 SJ RYDER]

I recently picked up an 05 SJ and have had carb trouble since day one.....the more i look into things i'm convinced that the guy i bought i from sold it to me with the wrong carbs installed. can you help me get to the bottom of this?

the carbs of my ski look like this - the air cleaner attaches with 3 bolts

the carbs i should be using are ones that look like these

i ran my ski with my buddies carbs which had the 4 bolts and it ran like a champ. his ski is an 03 SJ and mine is an 05 SJ.

plese help me out with this.....i just noticed the difference in carbs this evening.

The four bolts are the 40mm and up Miks. You are running the stock 38s. I would break them down and find out your jetting. Perhaps the previous owner took off his head and pipe when he sold the ski, replaced them with stockers, but left the carbs jetted for the mods.

shonuff is probably right. Can you get a set of your buddies carbs and just run those. Ebay may have them for a few hundred bucks
