stock sj pole questions

the bottom bracket piece is off of my rn sj pole for shortening. i just wanna make sure i have the steps right for puttin it back together...

1.do i just jam the pole into the bracket piece with some epoxy resin and put in some rivits?

2. do i need to do any re-enforcing?

3. should i paint the pull once its put together? or when its in pieces?

4. is the pole light enough to run without a spring? I hated my ac pole when i would do o no hander and the pole would be bouncin up and down.:Eyecrazy:

1.do i just jam the pole into the bracket piece with some epoxy resin and put in some rivits? That works. Some people like using bolt and nut instead.

2. do i need to do any re-enforcing? Why not? I did this to mine. Pretty bulletproof now!

3. should i paint the pull once its put together? or when its in pieces? When completed.

4. is the pole light enough to run without a spring? I hated my ac pole when i would do o no hander and the pole would be bouncin up and down.:Eyecrazy:
NO. Spring is needed.

you need to get all that junk out of the bracket and sand it both the bracket and the bottom of the pole so the resin will stick.

i would not see the point in running it without a spring...your back will start hurting you very quickly if you run just a tight bolt.

make sure you cut it straight/even before you put it back together. then make sure its seated all the way into the base before you drill holes and rivet/bolt. ive seen people shorten and re-enforce their poles and when they mount them back on the ski its all cock-eyed. i would also re-enforce it once you shorten it and put the base back on. and run an aftermarket spring.

Thanks mister :veryhappy:

you doin a conversion?

I've seen 2 methods;
1. where fiber meets the alloy upper and lower part
2. wrap the whole thing

I did # 2 on my current pole. I tried #1 on my previous pole. Either way works, more time involved when doing # 2, obviouisly.
