300/440/550 Stock 550 Carb

What carb came stock on 550's? Was it a Mikuni? And what do you think one might be worth? I know a guy selling one for $10.00 does anyone need one or are then not even worth that?

The carb appears to be a 38ish mikuni.

83?/85 550's had a 38mm round body 86-90 had 44mm round body 91-94/95 had a Keihin 38mm tapered.

In my opinion all the mukuni carbs that came on 550s were junk. You wont make jack on it like Matt said.

same guy I bought my intake manifold from. Rides a souped up 550, mostly at Liberty Lake.

Doesn't post here or anywhere for that matter, he's got that carb for sale for $10 and is trying to sell a beat up protec vortex f/a for $30

Give him 10 bucks if you feel generous, but don't expect anything but a carb that's near worthless.

I'm not going to buy it if no one wants it or it's not worth anything. I told him that I doubt that I wanted it but I'd see if someone online might need it.

I know little about carbs for 550s, except that they won't fetch money.

I gotta stock 89 550 BN44 carb installed and I don't like it's hard starts in water.

I'm getting a SBN44 carb at the Texoma ride.

well I sold the old 550 a couple weeks ago (thank the good Lord for that) but I can a sbn 44. same carb on the single carbed 701 sj/fx-1/blaster. its a great carb and made tuning the the dieing 550 way easier. I bought the sbn new from a hot products dealer.

I think the hard start has more to do with the piston port motor. The carb will help but the pp motors are a bear no mater what.
