sticker removal

Ran across this thread after trying a heat gun on the 23 yr old stock decals on a 94 550SX I just bought. The heat works, but the decals come up in tiny pieces.....millions of them!

So I picked up a decal removal wheel off Amazon. Cost about $10. This took less than an hour, both sides. Plus the 2 warning decals on the back. Stock gelcoat has chips in it, but is in pretty descent shape. A great base for a new decal kit.

What were the ex's decals of that were so horrible?

Heat guns do seem to tear up the older decals to shreds. I'm sure it's frowned upon, but I've used heat gun + razor blade + goo gone on my bikes for years. Don't have shaky hands though

for stickers I use a plastic scrapper and a heat gun, then finish with WD40 to get the gooey stuff off. You can use Acetone, but be careful depending on the paint job.

Try plastic razor blades. Actually made for this purpose.
The eraser wheel is far easier though

Yea use a heat gun. Thats what I use.
