Stick with cheap protec pipe or get B pipe??

I am gathering parts for my RN SJ build while the hull is being painted. I'm just going to be running a stock 701 with ADA head and hooker impellar (+new waterdawg razor hood, bracket, etc.).
Have the option of buying a very cheap protec pipe ($50 aus) Should I just go with this or spend the extra money on a factory B pipe limited setup? Will the difference between the two be worth the extra money? with the crappy exchange rate it will be a pricey upgrade!
Also with this setup is an MSD enhancer worth buying?

Any help would be appreciated as this is my first build.

I personally would just advance my timing and mod the rev limiter on the stock CDI for where you are at right.
Some of the protec pipes are decent. It really depends on your long term plans. If you have future plans to really build the motor, I would say buy the B Pipe. If you are just looking to get good power and don't want to spend a lot, go for the Protec. I have two friends running Protec pipes and they make decent power.

I would go with the Protec pipe I am not posistive that the B produces that much more power. For the money you can't go wrong.

The enhancer is a decent bang for the buck and you won't ever out grow it unless you go with total loss. Which you can then sell the MSD for almost a new price. Advancing your static timing with high compression head can run into problems. At least the MSD retards the timing back to stock levels at upper RPM's .

Personally I think exhaust pipes on skis are vastly overpriced. It puts a solid confirmation on the fact that you must "pay to play", then again I'm a broke ass, who hates economic inflation. I wish I owned or worked at a fab shop, I would just make all my own :):):):).

Protec pipe has served me very well for some time now and I've ridden many skis with B-pipes, my FX1 has a B-pipe, my hubbies ski has a B-pipe.

I had a mach II protec pipe on my ski before i got a b pipe. it worked well on my ski and when i switched to a b pipe i didn't notice a night and day difference. the only downfall is that pipe weighs a ton.

the mach 2 is heavy
I have an earlier pipe with the chromed chamber that is lighter
and it works good

we and my friend both have superjet 760's his has a pro tec pipe and mine has a B pipe. He just got his ski and we are still working on getting rid of a dead spot in the bottom end power of the ski but once it hooks up it seem to pull really hard. My ski with the b pipe is dialed in real good and hits really hard down low. I am still running the stock 38's so my next move is to bump up to some 48's full spec's. As for the wieght I can say that the pro tec does seem to weight a ton. My ski has the bad lean to the right most superjets have and his sits just about even because the pipe pulling it over.
