Steering cable trouble??

I am having a problem with my steering cable bending at the turn plate. The cable is adjusted properly, it hits the stop in both directions and is not bottoming out.

I noticed while I was riding, the steering gets tight when I am under power??? When I let off the gas the steering is normal. So, as soon as I go to do a nose stab, I hit the gas, turn the bars and the cable bends??? I can ride and do other tricks and no problem. Why would the steering cable get tight or bind up only when under power??????

Well, this is a mystery. I couldn't find any spots that would be pinching the steering cable. With the cable unhooked from the plate and the pump, it didn't seem to slide as smothly as a new one. Maybe there is some sand in there causing a problem??

I put a new cable in, I'll try it out tomorrow.

I missed this thread apparently, but that's what I would have done as well.

Also, once they bend the first time, they're junk and will bend again in a heartbeat.

Mine has a slight bend in it where I f'ed it up while pulling my pump. When it is not under power it sticks a bit, but when it is under power I don't even feel it....yet.
