The FX1 cable will not work without modification.
IMHO, you're better off buying a new cable.
Your cable didn't bend because of a -3 pole. When you put an aftermarket steering setup on, or if you change the hole location in the plate or nozzle, you MUST readjust your steering cable to prevent bending it.
You must center the nozzle and make sure the bars are centered. Then you need to steer to each side and confirm that the steering plate is hitting the steering stop on the pole. If it isn't, then the steering cable stops the movement, and that leads to bent/broken cables.
The best way to remove the cable:
Remove the rideplate
Remove the cable from the pump
Remove the pump (optional)
Remove the steering attachment at the end of the cable
Unscrew the white cap on the thru-hull fitting
Pull out the cable a bit and remove the white plastic clip on it
Disconnect the cable from the steering plate
Remove the steering attachment from the other end of the cable (optional)
Remove fuel tank (optional, but good idea)
Pull the cable out from the pump side.
