FX-1 Steering cable on 144 pump

My cable is hitting the water bypass fitting on the pump. I'm worried overtime this will make the cable fail. I've read one swap where they cut the bypass off. I'd like to keep the dual cooling set up. Anyone else run into this?

Just cut the one in the way off,epoxy the hole and drill and tap a hole where it will be out of the way.lt wil work great.

Or you can flip the stator section. Either run a line back around or if you have dual cooling than your good to go.

LMK if you have any questions on this, it confused me the first time I heard of it.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. didn't realize It could be flipped around. Thanks, moving forward again. Man it's tight getting two cooling lines and the trim in there. Tomorrow engine alignment.
