Stator Vane Repair

Yeah, I am fully aware of the options out there. I didn’t want this to turn into a “what is the best pump for an FX-1” thread hahah I chose to use the stock pump for a reason, and that is what I’m using.
I know this pump is garbage, but we are just looking at it from the standpoint of, would you be happy with this repair for your pump.

After the impeller, water is moving aft and spiraling. The stator vanes stop the spiral. The front bend of the stator should be a large radius so there is no flow separation. The back side of the vanes should be perfectly smooth since its in a lower pressure zone that relies on a boundary layer to keep water attached. If the welds didn't fill all voids just build up everything with epoxy and sand to shape. Epoxy has plenty of strength for water, rocks will quickly destroy it though.

Well $150.00 is one shop hour so yeh you got what you paid for. As long as it works they did their job. Install it and ride it. You made the right choice by not upgrading the pump. I wouldn't waste to much money on that ski.
