Starting issue

My gp1200 wont start, its fuggin cold outside, pulled it in the garage turned the salamandor on and let it warm up some. Well it wont even act like its gonna start. :frown: Anyone know a trick to make this bitch start? Its hard enough to get these triples going when its nice out. Any help is appreciated.

Yea, I may put my other battery in cause it is acting a little strange, but just wondering if someone had any ideas.

It cranks fine, just doesnt fire, I havent ran it in about 6 months, so that sucks. Changed the plugs a few weeks ago and tried firing it and nothing. I let it sit, now it is in the garage and we are putting the salamandor to it.

Did you pull the choke ,try putting your hand over the air intake while you crank it to choke it some more .Your gas could be bad after 6 months or have water in it .

I had a 98 gp 1200 and primers was THE BEST thing I ever did to it .Start's on the first crank everytime :biggthumpup:

Dump some gas down the carbs and crank away.

Yamahas especially, you have to crank a while continuously before it fires. On my 800 motor on a cold start, I hold the start button down continuously until it fires or the voltage drops, then I wait a few. Long cranks are common.
And...stupid suggestion, but make sure the fuel is on.
