Long story short, I swamped my ski a few years ago, got pissed and let it sit for a while, then finally brought it back to life this winter. After rebuilding my e-box w/new regulator+ starter solenoid, it now frequently continues to crank even after pulling the lanyard. The stop button is disconnected after getting wet a few years back. Last night I attempted to start it. As soon as I bumped the start button it began cranking. During this episode, I yanked the lanyard and disconnected both harness coming from the start/stop control. It kept cranking and quickly fired up. Ended up yanking the fuel lines to kill it. I have an MSD enhancer and reassembled all connections and grounds with basic marine grease. I'm wondering if the grease is letting voltage leak or if the coil on the solenoid is polarized. I'm going to crack open the e-box and verify all connections tonight.
