The bearing in the housing of my 650 x-2 froze or rusted tight.:grumble: I finally freed it but would live to replace the bearing. I know this start has wear compared to age, the brushes have minimal wear and the comm looks good. Where is the best place to get the bearing for starter? I also know it it the same as the 750,900, and 1100 Kawasaki starter.

Unless you rebuild starters for a living, you're better of replacing the starter.

All i need to do is press the bearing out of the housing on the bendix side. I found an aftermarket bearing for $26, but though there might be a better place to purchase parts. I'm very familiar with dc motors.

ok thanks. Sealing it up was my only worry but, I'm planning on installing new seals.

That is the place i had found the replacement bearings before. I would like to buy kawi bearing if they would be better.
