Super Jet Start / Stop switch

So I've been having an intermittent misfire, and the ski has died a few times (no spark). Anyway to cut a long story short I worked out yesterday it is the stop button on the stop start switch.

I took the switch to bits and it all looked ok (no corrosion) so I gave it a clean, sprayed it with WD40 and put it back together.

It seems to be ok now; is there anything else I should inspect/service/check/seal? Was WD40 the right thing to use?

Cheers,
Andrew

Do you ride in salt water? If so, your solution could've been coincidence. I did massive amounts of troubleshooting on the beach a few years back and after 30-60 minutes the salt ran off the connectors that were causing the problem and everything cleared up. Then 5 minutes later, I'd be back to troubleshooting.

Thanks guys. I do ride in salt water.. I'm fairly sure it was the switch as I was able to unplug the black/white and get spark, plug it back in and loose spark. It has run ok since fixing it..

What you did will work for a while but not forever. The WD40 is by no means a permanent form of protection.

What would be a more permenant solution? I would prefer to service the switch rather than replace it.. The rubber seals seemed to be in good condition (not ripped or anything).
