So, I'm flying from Boston to Denver this morning and I pull out my latest issue of Ride magazine to help pass the time. Thank God I had the mag with me because they were showing Poseidon as the in-flight movie, and it was freakin' awful. Anyhow, I finish with Ride and am about to stuff it back in my briefcase, when the guy next to me asks if he can have a look at it.

He reads it through and ask what skis I own. I rattle them off and he asks which ones I prefer, and I said that my two seater gets no ride time anymore, my three seater gets ridden by my wife, my son rides the Blaster and I ride the standup. He asks me why I prefer the standup over the 2 seater or 3 seater, and I explain the usual..It's more of a challenge, it's a better workout, and it is basically a thousand times more fun.

He tells me he has a SeaDoo GTX and was thinking of getting a ski that he could ride 'in standup mode'. I bit my tongue and asked what he was looking at. "The Seadoo 3-D" was the response. And of course he says "well they don't make regular standups anymore, and weren't they all like 400CCs?

Luckily we had plenty of flight time left, so I set him straight and he is now looking into either an SXR or an SJ.

The funniest thing was, the guy sitting on the other side of me was completely silent while me an the other guy were discussing things. Then he says to me, "You know what, I was thinking of getting a PWC for my son and I, and I think you just talked me into buying a couple of standups.

:woot: :woot: Two converts for the price of one!!!

because with todays fatties and laziness, all theyd sell is quite a "few".

Way to sugarcoat it SFL!

Agree that they wouldn't sell any. I don't agree that its all about laziness and people being overweight. I think that's only part of it along with image and showing-off. You can take friends out on your 3-seater, not your standup. People don't think those are "cool" until they get bored with their couches.
