Super Jet Squre nose vs round nose

Location

Thanks for all the info, right now its a budget issue and if I get a square nose for 900 bucks I can start slowly getting the parts that I can swap into my RN when I get it. I'm not after looks just want something that I can build up little by little.
I'm going to see a 92 for 800 bucks but I think I will wait for a 94 or 95 with the 701 I think it would be worth an extra 200 for the 701. I saw a 95 sell for 1200 and it was very clean I just missed it.

If you're on a budget, stay away from a RN. Your money is much better spent on a 701 to start with.

Carving Turns.

SN will rail the turns flat.

RN can carve the turn more so.

If your on a budget, the SN is the way to go. They do rock from side to side much more than a RN will on smoother water. The RN you can get more leverage on the pole when doing rolls and such than the SN.

Like many have said, personal preference.

uhhh hmmmm. It doesn't make sense that one carves and one turns flat.... If your gonna upgrade hulls. Get an am hull

Handlepole location changes the leverage. The SN turns much more flater than the RN. Granted, neither turns as well as a 750sxi or SXR. But they are different. StandupEd had one of the first SN's with Tubbies, now that SN would carve a turn!!!!!!!!!

Mademan9 do you know whos white/blue/orange RN that is? I saw it on a WETRACER poster on the weekend. Thats a nice boat and the graphics are pretty slick!

That ski sitting in my driveway and belongs to my friend Jackie. His user name here is pyro729.

I had a sn, the yellow one in the same picture and loved it.

i used to love my square...if you are just getting into it get a square and use the money u saved on getting a mildly ported 701 (have whoever ported your motor assemble and tune it as it saves allot of hassle and if u are just getting into it having a reliable ski makes things allot more fun..the power difference will be a much greater benefit than the difference in hulls..

brings back good memories..i remember how stoked i was the first time i rode it after only riding kawi 650s and 750s...thing felt like it had soooo much power ...had allot of fun on that ski...you can do anything on a square that u can do on a round...plus its nice to have a ski that u can replace the hull for 100$ so you can beat it and not worry about messing it up...

the day i brought her home circa 2005

unfortunately i let my buddy use the hull after i took it apart and he bashed it in so bad the top deck seperated from the bottom deck...i wish i still had it for nostalgia..

all the guys in our group we ride with have put in at least a year on a square before they upgrade..

i used to be able to flatwater BR my square...all it had was a pipe and a milled head with footholds...for some reason that ski felt like it had allot of "pop" must have been the nose exhaust hahaha

"you can do anything on a square that u can do on a round." In the surf, I agree 1000%. They are great surf boats.

I used to love the sn as a race boat they were better in battles than the rn
Either way in the surf i dont think its makes a difference, I prefer the look of the rn but thats just personal preference

They're both awesome skis. I won the Region 2 Vintage Ski Championship on my 650 square nose, but I didn't like it for freestyle. I definitely prefer the round nose when it comes to freestyle though.
