squeky Ac pole bolt driving me crazy?

Somone here was talking bout getting rid of the single through bolt and replacing it with 2 bolts, anyone know the correct size bolts to put in this thing so they will fit correctly,be tight enough to support the pole and not have this trifflin noise everytime it movesup or down?

no lubing it is deff not the answer here,I tried that and tightning the bolts as tight as i could with a breaker bar and it still floped all over

what do you mean x metal system,I dont need to change brackets, just bolts right? what size are they?

You can try to find all these crazy ******** and make some from a hardware store OR you can just buy the right tools for the right job.

I have these...worth every damn penny!!! I have no experience on a stock bracket but i runa XMW lowered bracket

The squeak may be in the spring itself, so thats where a little lube might do the most good . . . . . worth a try !

Does the top part of the spring that goes cross ways still have the peice of tubing on it that contacts the handle pole ?

How do you retain the spring on the 2 piece bolt set-up ? I haven't seen one of those set-ups before . . . . .

BK said he runs a spring but i dunno how without something for the spring to wrap around. Unless he's running a single bolt on XMW bracket.

I ditched my spring and just clamped the bolts. I like it WAY better. Its alot harder to move and doesnt open up on BRs, stabs, etc. I hated it at first but love it now.

Once you get use to this....you cant ride a spring pole anymore. It just feals...uneasy

No spring on mine, but I have the XMetal Pole.......

do you have a spring in yours........ Tightening up is not going to help if you have a spring, all it is going to do is compress the bolt area on the AC Pole............ you could remove the spring and put the spacers inside that keep the pole from compressing when you tighten up...........

I had an AC pole with a wammer bracket with spring.............. squeeked all the time, lube just made it worse.

you need to have the spacers on the bolt inside the pole.......... I have a set if you dont have them........... it will allow you to tighten up the pole to whatever stiffness you want it to be.

heres what im dealng with.....

Torr, I might try and see about getting some of those xmw bolts for Jena's ski. We can try them first on yours if I do. Your pole scares the poop outta me anytime you move it within 50ft of me

I dont see the point in paying 45 bucks for 2 stainless bolts I can go pick up at tidewater fasteners for 5 bucks, why do the bolt heads have that weird shape to them? is that really nessary?

kahuna, did you just use regular stainless bolts?

you cant just go buy stainless bolt, the stock bolt is an oddball size, maybe you would get lucky........... XMetal makes the bolts the way they do so there is enough clearance for the dual breather tubes...........

I have the full X Metal setup.......

this place tidewater fasteners has every bolt on earth,I just need to know the size and thread. I only have one tube so i have plenty of room for any kinda bolt head. how much did ya want for the bolts ya already have,if ya dont need them?

what kinda bracket is this also, and what is the clip thing on the right side for?

Looks like a reinforced replica of a stock bracket. UMI? http://blowsion.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=UYA09000 And now that I think of it, are the xmw bolts long enough to fit through that thickass bracket?

That clip on the right is just for looks if you are running a stiff pole. Actually it's just for looks with some aftermarket poles too, stiff or not. It'll hold up a stocker.

The xmw nuts are oddball sizes too.
