I heard that back in the day Warren Federwitz, a pro blaster freestyler, was doing them on flat water. The only video that I saw of him though looked more like an over-rotated bronco.

That may be the guy I saw. It looked just as you describe. It was red and had foot inserts into the footwells like footholds but on the floor of the wells.

I think the reason you don't see most guys doing backy's on square hulls is because when you're talking about a boat costing upwards of 20 grand, you might as well spend the extra couple hundred bucks and atleast get yourself a roundie topdeck. Then again, there aren't many roundie's backflippin either that aren't aftermarket hulls.
