Square nose hood-what can be done?

I, like Im sure everyone else, get a ton of water in my engine bay any time I get the nose under water. Even doing sitting spins can get a ton in there to the point the 500gph bilge and stock bilge take a long time to remove and it bogs my carb down. So, what can be modified to help? Can I plug the holes in the front of the hood and drill new ones somewhere they won't get force fed water?

Look at the hood seal just behind the pole mount. Every SN I ever owned had a dip there and the hood seal didn't seal very well there and let water in. I would start with a new OEM hood seal but fill in the low spot with epoxy before you install the seal.
