I'm gettin a spark about every 20th revolution when starter is engaged. Can't seem to get the engine to sustain the combustion. TL brain is freshly wired and used in fresh water only. Using a primer. Gas is fresh too. Ski started fine prior to this. Ran batt dead tryin to start this morning.

Which TL brain is it? The only one I know is the Dual Digital. If it is a digital unit, you can jump the two pickup terminals leading to the brain (Brown to Brown, Yellow to Yellow, Orange to Orange) momentarily to cause the corresponding coil to fire. If they are firing when jumped check your airgap between pickup and flywheel and the pickup(s) itself.

Single pickup digital. Airgap is o.k. Pickup is new. Pulled airfilter and tried to hand choke it. It acts flooded, but symptoms don't improve when I dry it out by d/c'ing the fuel inlet. Carb is 49 full spec single. Top screw is 1 1/4 turns out & bottom is 1 1/2 out. Any more tips?

When you say your getting spark every 20th revolution you mean combustion, or an actual spark at the spark plug(s)? If you aren't getting a consistant spark from your ignition, I wouldn't worry about your carburetor. If its flooded pull the plugs ground your wires and crank at full throttle to clear excess fuel.

If you arent getting spark at all, first step in my book would be to jump your pickup wires as stated earlier. Doing this will help rule out any pickup issues (even though its new).

Man once you get that thing going, you're going to have to buy a wetsuit to ride it.

Pull both plugs and lay them on the head. See if you're getting consistent spark.
