Super Jet Soooo What next?

Hey Everyone!

So I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do with my ski next and can figure out what would be the best next step. Here is the Info:

It is a 92 SN with a 701
-62t bottom and 61x top.
-Dual 44's
-Carbon fiber reeds
-Flame arrestors and Jetinetic filters
-Ada head (180 domes)
-B Pipe
-Aluminum Water box
-0 degree bars
-Grips
-Quick Turn plate set-up
-Finger throttle
-Impeller (Not sure what size/pitch, came with the ski)
-Hood straps
-Hood redone with vents in the back
-Bilge with switch
-New turf
-Footholds
-D cut plate
-Intake grate scoop

Don't get me wrong I love me ski but of course looking for some more power. One thing I am looking to change this season so swapping out the stock pole because it is still on there.

So what next? Porting?

Sell the ski and get something newer? I am doing a lot of flat water but we do get some nice waves on the great lakes. I just picked up a full time position with the court now so I am starting to make some money. Once I get some things paid off I plan on dropping some $ into my ski or get something newer.

What do you all think?

you could always get another hull. there will be a bunch to chose from this winter. you have a good powerplant. if you wanted a budget build send it to chris jetmaniac

- I was thinking this also but the only thing is that I am not sure how much I could really sell my SN for... It does have a new paint job on it and in good condition but no one around here would want it I think...

upgrade to a RN hull! I have one i'm gonna put up for sale soon.

-This is a idea. Any price yet? Athens is a long drive so I would have to have a pretty good deal to come all the way down there to get it..lol

First thing is first...figure out what your prop is. If it's not a skat swirl or hooker, sell it and get the hooker.

I am pretty sure my buddy said it was a hooker. Is there a way that I could check but crawling under there and taking a look?

^ that.

and also I didn't see an ignition on that list.

For porting, etc send everything to Chris as mentioned (JetManiac).

-Yeah I was going to upgrade ignition also for the next step. I was planning on going to Chris for it because he has always been good to me..lol

I mit be selling my hull this winter also.

-Nice! Do you know a price? You are also pretty far so I would have to drive out there to pick it up so hopefully it would be worth it.

Theres nothing wrong with a squarenose, a roundnose is mostly a cosmetic preferance. I have a roundnose as well but a squarenose has a lower pole bracket and has the same bottom deck so you have no real disadvantage performance wise. Id say have a full porting job done and depending on how much money you are making now you might as well have some big bore sleeves installed. The list can go on and on endlessly... stroker crank, mag pump, etc. You can upgrade your hull later and if you plan on an aftermarket hull you can spend your money on performance upgrades now and save your money for the hull you really want

Build the engine, keep the hull till ur ready for a dramatic change. Of course I swapped from SN to RN for cosmetics too, so I can't say too much. However, the change for me would have been better spent on engine upgrade vs hull swap. That said if u go with a carbon freak then what u got power wise will feel stronger in one of those.

Good point! As well as for everyone also. So that is what I will work on then. I will keep with the motor and do some porting work on it and maybe new sleeves with bigger pistons. Before dumping money into it would I be smarter to go a different route then keeping my 701? I know there are 760's out there but I talked to a few people and they say it is not worth it and just keep the 701 and do porting.

Pink Grips and where it is at!..lol

Thanks again everyone!
