I think the safety factor depends on how you ride - If you try a roll and flop on your side you may get bruised (flatwater) to maybe a busted rib (ocean) or worse, depending. If you just have fun but stop short of rolls & flips (like this old man :cat05:) you usually just come home tired & sore if it's been a big surf day.

On bikes, what if you come up short on a double & case it in? Or if you're just blasting thru the woods & run into a tree? Much more potential for injury.

Also a lot more of a rush....:frown:

You said it. "also a lot more of a rush" I've had some dirt crashes that were awesome.

yeah, I have too...especially ones where I woke up and felt really relaxed, like I just got 12 hours of sleep............then I realized......oh fauk...I'm in the dirt, I just got knocked out.

Yes, You don't know were you are. Things come in slowly, sight, hearing and once I couldn't move for a couple of minutes. Then its off to the hospital. Thats why my wife is on my case about two wheels. Plus I think we get to crazy. Dirt has broken both wrists, fractured wrist, tailbone, fractured rib,leg and ankle broke off hanging. That one hurt. :biggthumpup:Now I have 6'' plate and seven screws in leg. I'm 29 and my doc says my body is about 40+. I think I might have some issues. But theres nothing like two wheels.Or one wheel.

Co-worker just bought a new KLX-450R and the dirt bike bug (dormant for 4 years now) is crawling under my skin, I wanna itch it reaaaal bad...:banghead:

Was it Stricky that ended up being airlifted off the track? Just give him a call and ask for some X-Ray films ... I'm sure that'll cure the itch. ;)

Thats the way we do it in Fl. Its also fun to ride in the rain in the summer. Dirt or sand hooks better. We don't like mud. Just a little rain to cool things off.
