Other Someone Please help!

Hey guys, new to the forums. I need some help with this 91 550sx i got. It starts and runs good. Then it runs great for the first few minutes it in the water, But then after about 3-5 minutes of riding it starts bogging. Then it boggs out completely and wont do more then like 2 miles per hour. Its weird cause it will run good then just completly bogg out and like bearly makes it back to shore. Does anyone know what this could be?? :frown:

check to make sure its cooling properly. hoses front to rear are known to have critters clog then up or restrict flow. also I had one ski where the wear ring got corrosion under it and bogged down engine when it got hot.

check your fuel tank and fuel lines for holes.make sure water is coming out of the squarter on the side.make sure ur gas mixture is correct

Could be fuel related.
Also might want to check for any exhaust leaks.

I think its set up for dual cooling. Cause there are two pissers. And they bolth piss super hard. It has fresh plugs and fresh gas at 32:1. Its super weird. I asked a tech at kawasaki he told me to check my compression and that it might be trying to seize. Does that sound correct to anyone?

Clean the carb and rebuild it. Have you tried pulling the choke out when it starts running bad. Or fuel lines.

pull the spark plug caps off, cut them back 1/4 inch, try and tug on the wires with needle nose pliers, see if any wires pull loose, if not, then screw your plug caps back on. If some do come loose, keep cutting back until there are no more broken wires. Remove fuel lines, cut back 1/2". You may be loosing fuel pressure. Ends may be stretched out. You could have a bad stator that only acts up when motor gets hot.

It has the choke removed and a primer installed

EXHAUST LEAK, it will start fine, then enough exhaust fills up engine bay, and it wont go over like 5 mph. take the hood off, and try it again, if it works, you have a leak
