Ok so i need some advice.I have a SN right now that is about to have a complete 701 and b-pipe on it and it already has footholds. And i do compete freestyle,Should i build my SN hull scupper, slutty hood mod, refoam, etc?Or pick up a RN hull?

If you fix the hood letting it water issue whats really wrong with SN?

I feel like a total newbie starting a thread like this but oh well:confused:

Squares are great... i rode a freaking sweet one this weekend and love it! Love my roundie too.... hard choice! Could put more money into other things if you keep the square.

im in the same situation. I figured ill keep my money, and put it towards a bigbore for next year, and ill chop my Sn bottom, with handholds and sluttyhood mod Im also going to cut off about half of the front lip. I see no point in switching hulls when i can keep up with everyone else as it is.

nothing wrong with the square. youll find that the RN is more "stylish" by 'most' peoples' opinions.....

the RN does has its advantages in the pole bracket area with its strength and angle, vs the SN, but if you can glass, that can easily be overcome.

i didnt do the "slutty" mod. i did the SFL mod and its clean and tight and has very minimal water intrusion.

I forgot!
the RN hull handles way better than the SN. Personally i built up my SN with all the good stuff until there wasn`t much left to buy so then i converted over. of course i had to spend money on the new hull modding it with footholds and scupper etc, but i was cool with that.

Keep the square, already have the lowered pole and hood. No advantage going to the rn other than looks, and more body parts avaliable, and you will spend way more $$$$.

IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT LOOKS SPEND SOME COIN WITH SURFJETLOUIE HE HAS SOME NICE SN PARTS.

I think im just gonna stick with the SN with a little paint and h-ll even mabye a surfjetlouie hood and nose piece the square will shoot me.If you fix the hood water issue then the square is just fine i think.

really, i liked my sn too but after riding rn hulls and getting my own i wouldn`t go back. for surf riding maybe not much difference but for the hood tricks i can nail them on the rn hull 95% and on my sn only 50%. The RN hull flys different in the air for some reasons too. we have studied the two side by side and the differences are minimal and seem to be cosmetic but the ride is waaay different

My guess is that the weight distribution must be slightly different in other areas from boat to boat, combined with the pole makes it feel different. Even riding 2 rn back to back if setup only similar, can be night and day.

I agree with you there on the hood tricks, but i can do all the hood 180 spins and even no handed 180 spins on the square, but when i hop on my buds rn the hood riding is a little easier.

Its fo sho different, little wierd feeling bein the only square out there competing in my region:veryhappy:
Believe me when I tell you its not the boat that will make the difference now, you need to ride all the time and hone your skillz. I watched my ski get rolled on the flatwater with ease.
