Solas 12 Vane 140MM Pump and Solas Prop

I have an opportunity to pick-up several brand new Solas pumps with props. I wanted to get an opinion on the pump and see if anyone else is interested. It would be $700 for the pump and prop, is this a reasonable deal? Let me know what you think and if you would be interested in picking one up.

thats what I'm wondering. I see lots of talk of the Skat magnum pumps but don't hear much about Solas. I know usual new cost is about $1000 for the pump and another $200-$300 for the prop so it seems like a great deal but it's still not free.

In exchanged messages with the person I would be getting the pumps from. Sounds like there would not be a choice in prop and they are validated pitch. Seals would be included but bearings would need to be purchased separately. They would be able to provide a source for the bearings for about $12 each.

so I got a little more information from the supplier of the pumps. The prop that is included is a 15/23 pitch prop but is a Polaris Octane part number. So the pump fits Yamaha SJs and Blasters but the prop is for the octane. I'm going to do a little more research because even if the prop fits the pump, I'm not sure the drive shat is the same. If anyone on here knows more about whether or not they are interchangeable, please post here. I mentioned that this will probably dramatically limit interest so maybe we can get a better deal

you need to also find out about the wear ring. i don't think yamaha & polaris are the same back there, but i do not know for sure.

Yeah agreed, this is starting to get complicated so I'm not sure it's going to happen. I'm going to be talking with the seller later this week so I will post any updates

I thought the octane came with a 6 vane solas pump?

I don't know the details of the octane pump, I checked the Solas Website and they don't list a Polaris option for their pumps. That being said, I did cross referrence the part numbers for these pumps and props and it is the yamaha pump with the polaris prop so I'm a little confused. Was not able to speak with the guy last night so I will try and get a hold of him tonight after work and see what more I can find out.
