So what exactly is FP warrenty policy...

I have been emailing them back and forth pics, and I asked if there was anything they could do to help me. They said its probably not repairable, and the early production runs of the 650 pipes are weak in one spot. I do have the early version (2 water screws). They asked for additional pics, and I sent them in. I also asked about the warranty (if any) and we'll see what they come back with. My dad is a machinist and today I showed it to him. He does not think it can be salvaged by welding. Here are the other pics I send FP.

We'll see what happens, and thanks for all the support.

FP didnt answer my last mail so I am going to assume I am sunk with them. I need a pipe asap, and I have someone who thinks it can be welded.... so I am going to send it out to try. I'll post up an update if I hear anything.

I can afford another, but by the time it gets shipped.... then it has to get bored....and back to me... it will be awhile. Nothing to lose trying to weld it, and I really dont expect fp to warranty it... so why wait?

EDIT: and its peak riding season now with my new motor.... I need a FP! LOL

If your in this much of a hurry why dont you just put a stock exhaust on for now until this is resolved? Someone here I'm sure can hook you up with one cheap.

FP got back today, and said to send it in for warranty evaluation.... They said specifically in the mail that it will be measured to see if it was ported. Knowing this, I dont want to try to pull anything over on a company that supports the sport... so I am not going to waste there time or mine and just suck it up and replace it. I asked them if they would give me a discount on a new headpipe and exhaust manifold. And in the meantime I am sending the F'd up one out for welding. Very interested to see what they say.

Still should send it..... worst case your out $30 bux in shipping... just play dumb and say it hasn't been touched. once they have it they'll probably replace it in good faith no matter waht. its the least they can do since they make a killing on this stuff anyway.

Your right, and any other "faceless corporation" I would try in a second. They have been good with getting back to me and helpful. I dont want to scam a company in the sport. The headpipe is also one of the first x2 early "beta" model headpipes that only has 2 water screws (no bottom screw) and I dont think it gives as good tunability as the new style. Also its a complete PIA to clearance with the westcoast manifold as the coupler actually hits the ex manifold. I want a shiny new one to go with my shiny new Mod chamber, so its time to buck up. It was worth asking. And I have multiple x2s so it never hurts to have more FPs!
