So how low is Lanier???

Anybody rode there since the Accidental discharge from the dam. I heard it was like 80 billion gallons and it looks pretty low from the news. Are all the ramps still usable? I was wanting to ride there next weekend. Oh yeah I heard the governer filed a restaining order against the corps of engineers. What dose it restrain them from doing?

We rode last Saturday. In the 10+ years we have been riding there I have never seen it so low. The ramp we use is still functional...but the dock is pretty much sitting in dirt. There are coves we usually ride in that you can actually WALK across now!

its still usable down at jetski cove. you just cant cut through the island from the ramp anymore..

damn that sucks we are haveing the same problem here but its not with the corp, its the city of dallas they have sucked copper lake dry ?? and there is nuthing any one can do and it used to be a nice lake now it looks more like a sand hole

Thanks for the link Madmat. I hadnt gotten the full story yet' just spots on the news. I didnt know about the drawdown for the endangered species. Florida has always been on our but about the chattahoochee I think some lawsuits have been thrown around before. Isnt that the pot calling the kettle black when it comes to water diversion. Where are half of the everglades?

We normally ride around Shoal Creek or Big Creek / Holiday Marina area, however we plan to ride out of Lanier Park to the chanel this Friday. I will let you know. I have not heard of any of the major parks or ramps being closed.

in 2000 it got to be 17ft below full pool, they thought it was 2 ft low but found out there gauge was broken and say its around 5 ft low............im going there right now so ill let you know this evening.

its media hype......plain and simple, i went out there tonight and the level isnt even at a normal end of summer level. my buddy in orange beach said it was on the news down there, he couldnt belive that being 5ft low was becoming such a media event. like i said befor we have seen the lake much lower as bad as 17ft. the only boat ramp was old federal which is a road that got covered when they flooded the valley.
