I think being a former race has nothing to do with your freestyle/freeride potential.maybe a racer would pick up tricks sooner than a newb. It takes a lot of balls and practice to be good at freeriding.We were actually talking about freeriders vs racers at the lake yesterday and Paul or Big Kahuna, I can't remember who said it, said that former racers make the best freeriders/freestylers because they are great about always having control of the boat. I completely agree. It takes a lot of control over your blaster to be able to ride it 60mph through a chopped up race course and negotiate bouys.
