If you can pick up a roundie, go for it. But there's abosolutely nothing wrong with starting out on a sn. Great ski for the buck!

I have ridden both, while both bottom decks are the same (90-07 are the same 08+ changed) the RN seemed to ride differently than the SN. Maybe it is the handle pole length and placement of the mounting bracket. I felt I could throw the RN around a lot easier than a SN.

Get out to your local ride spot and just bum rides off people. Every set up is different but you will get way more info actually riding each for yourself than listening to everyone on here.

No offense to anyone in the above statement.
