Super Jet SN Single 44 pistonwash

I am getting two different piston wash readings from my sn single 44 61x/61x superjet. The front piston (closest to the gas tank) has some carbon build up with some piston wash, the back piston has very little carbon build (a few small spots) and is mostly washed clean. Running 93 octane @ 40/1 synthetic. What could cause the piston wash to be so different between the two?

usually the back piston is leaner, not richer. How long has it taken for the wash to develop or is this old wash?
full synthetic does not leave much carbon buildup. Run a tank or two of quicksilver or other non-synth oil
and see if it changes.
