I would say buy a SN with a 701 motor unless the looks of a RN are a lot better to you.
I have a SN and have absolutely zero RN envy. The bottoms are the same, the steering geometry is slightly different but not better or worse IMHO, either are great it is just what you are used to. I did a RN pole conversion on my SN and frankly don't even think that is really worth the effort.
Priorities for me would be to start with a 701 motor for sure. Upgrades would begin with footholds, then drivetrain work as you can afford it (porting, B-Pipe, impeller).

Yes definitely! Starting out small and working your way up as your skills progress is the way to go for sure

since your budget is limited i would go with a SN. they are cheaper than a RN. if you can only find a 650 go for it. get better and then upgrade to a 701. i started on a js300 when i was 15 (3 years ago). it was all i could afford at the time and it was a good intro to the sport. it gave me time to learn the basics. now being 18 and a feshman in college i found a couple good deals on a hull and motor and i am now building an fx1 for next season. work with what your budget gives you and most of all have fun.

I ride a 650sx now and my brother wants it he is a lil younger than me so my plan is to find a sn and build it over the winter like footholdes turf and stuff like that and if i come across the cash maby some bigger stuff like a 701 prop pipe exc.

And thanks for the imput guys i appreacite it alot!!

The 650 SN will be a big improvement over your 650 Sx. We sold our highly modded 650sx and bought a 650 SN for about the same price even with some nice mods like footholds, intake grate, and prop. You should be able to get a 701 later for around $700 - $800.

Good luck.
