SN midshaft mod to RN?

Well fellas can it be done?

Has anyone ever changed a stock SN midshaft to the newer RN? Is it possible?

With the shortage of NEW OEM SN midshafts I’m looking to convert if it’s possible.

To be clear, are you talking about the midshaft or the midshaft housing? There shaft itself would require no modifying, just use the correct coupler and you're good to go. There housings are readily available from sit down skis cheaper than buying a complete superjet setup. If you happen to have the whole assembly from an earlier superjet I'm guessing you could make it work by just drilling a few holes in the appropriate spots but I haven't done it.

Yea talking about the housing itself. Has anyone done it?

You can do it.
Drill and put some inserts.

Or the hard way reusing the old ones...

Why not just buy new? Correct, no need for adapters, drilling/moding your hull, etc. We have been using these for years, with great results...….

I have a used midshaft housing(smaller square nose size) to sell if you are going that route.

Is this aftermarket or OEM? I’ve learned my lesson on AM parts for Superjets... my current SN I’ve put a lot of work into. Rockered, widened tray, reinforcement throughout the hull front to back. Was a full resto/custom build. I can buy a newer RN but I really enjoy bringing back the SN.

Thanks but I have an extra one just in case. I really wanted to do the Mod to the newer midshaft housing bc the SN stuff will be harder to find in the future. Especially OEM. Thanks for all the replies so far! Y’all rock!!

OE is discontinued, and no longer available. Ours are aftermarket. You are correct there is A LOT of junk out there though.. aftermarket wise.

Like stated above, I have been using these in builds for years. We do many SN SJ's here. I do not sell anything I do not use here... I will say - Proper alignment is critical with any mid shaft.
