SN mid season makeover "Flatdeckage"

As most know i busted my shoulder and had a couple months down time. So i decided i would go ahead and start this project, as i was planning on it sometime this winter anyway. I have a few pics to share, but nothing to special yet just the usual de-foaming that really is not fun one handed. I got about half way de-foamed tonight before i had to quit. I did find my bond line is leaking a pump shoe screw came out and both my cooling tubes are loose so needless to say there is a small pool in the bottom of my hull right now.
i hope to be totally de-foamed tomorrow, exhaust tube out, the sides shaped down and the top shaped so its completely flat. after that i will start the prep work so i can reinforce and re-seal when my glass gets here. At the moment im forced to take my time and stop when i start hurting my shoulder bad. I hope this doesn't take forever, but i have to just do what i can for now so i dont re injure my break. I hope to be test riding the deck and getting ready for turf in about a month or so. i should be released from the doc by then. I will also be sporting a new bright paint job, shaved slutty hood, versi-plug max scupper, -2 AC pole, and maybe front exhaust if i cant find a RN tube for cheap. Im sure i will add to this list as the project continues and the funds allow.

And i need to thank spug for all his knowledge, without him sharing his experience i dont know if i would have went through with it. After his pointers im sure this will be sweet!!!!

Awesome I have footstrap inserts and hood straps coming, now I need footstraps and turf!@

i need to get some inserts, ox's look sweet.
im still back and forth as to what straps i want to run.
i have a pair of dakines, but i really like a lot of the
kite boarding setups that have a larger area on the top.
i also plan to run 2 sets of straps so i have to buy some
eventually.

WTF!!!! I spent alot of time putting those footholds in. J/K. :439: I was seriously thinking about buying that flat deck boat when it was posted on here. I want to try that when you get it finished. I have some scraps of turf if you need some to put on there just for test rides before you completely turf it.

sweet man i may take you up on that. and you are more then welcome to ride this thing when its done.

lol yeah i could tell you spent awhile building the tray up, i was smoking blades and when i got it out it was around 3/8 to a half inch thick. there was no way anyone was going to break that tray bottom.

lately ive gotten the hull stripped, more very anal de foaming lol. i have just about gotten every tiny piece of old foam out and all the rail turf removed. i re sealed the ride plate inserts and the pump shaft with 4200. i have new stainless cooling lines and trim tube to install and seal tomorrow.
i should have the bilge re painted and the pole painting finished tonight. i painted the hood the other night and i will post a few new paint pics in the next post. i love this color, it seems a lot duller in the pics then it really is. the pole is a gun metal metallic. ill get some pics after the clear goes on.
im placing my us composites order monday so hopefully i can have the rest of the materials by next weekend and start foaming/glassing the back section together.
i also figured a good placement for the exhaust and i think i will reuse my tube just lowered and stick with rear for now.

that ski belonged to spug he works for me, good guy. if you have any questions just pm him. don't know why he sold the dam thing the motorr carb ect out of that ski i have. he sealed up the deck water tight no foam, just two drain plugs on the rear of the hull. i've seen the ski sink ( lost hood) and no water in rear hull after we retrieved it. i was surprized.. bug the guy tell him he needs another ski, he uses my blaster which is ok but the boy needs another flat deck. good luck that ski was a blast..:chairshot:

Well the past few days i have made some progress. Im shooting to have this mostly wrapped up before next weekend.
I reinforced the back section with 2-layers of 12oz biax and filled the bond line with thickened epoxy. I put 3 new stainless cooling lines in, one hopefully to use for trim at some point. I resealed everything i could find inside with 4200.
Lowered the exhaust tube 3.5" to clear the new deck area and installed resealed my one way valve. I have also been doing a lot of painting and fitting the new bracket and pole. sanding, sanding, sanding, sanding. and i started re-foaming just a little while ago.
I will post more pics in another post. The bottom deck is a metallic grey and the top deck grabber green. The pics are a little disappointing in showing the paint colors very well.

Anyone have some tricks for shaping foam i dont know?

i plan to use a rasp, rotary sander, a few various saw's just didnt know if there is something else.

thanks
