SN hood water ingestion?

Is it just my hood or do most square nose yamaha's have a small problem with dumping a lot of water into the hull through the hood vents?

Any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

I tape over the front hood holes, and then also tape over one set of the vents on top.

it lets in LESS, but the SN hood in stock fashion still sucks butt.

agreed!! i have 2 bilges, a scupper and i have duct taped the crap out of my hood. and it still fills bad. i swamped the engine last week.

if you tape over BOTH top vents you will see it suck the tape in, and itll run like crap, with just ONE taped off, it runs fine.

I taped the left side, since I generally lay that side in the water more.

i am already running one bilge and after messing around for a couple minutes, i can run the 500 gph for close to two minutes to empty it out. Just makes me afraid when other people run my ski, i fear they will swamp it by dragging it on its side. I am going to have to try the tape!!

yes, if someone rides mine and falls over alot it will get heavy the carb will suck some water if it leans to the right side.

the tape helps, but a Hood mod is in my future.

X2.. This afternoon I picked up some sweet white duct tape to match the hood, that way it will only be semi-redneck looking. :27:

The stock hoods SUCK!I run dual bilges and after a good sub it takes 30 secs to a min to pump it all out.Even when im dicking around they pump some out.
