been trying to find good pics of SN bracket used with RN pole. x2 rags did it, but couldn't get pics to enlarge.

anyway, looks like i'm gonna need to grind off the pole "kickstand"/stay support and slightly move the starboard side hood hook in ~1-4". that sound right? talked to mcdog and he suggested tightening the pole bolt snug so as to hold pole upright itself since i won't have the support stay. i'm planning on using nylon or pvc spacers for the pole-to-bracket fit. any u guys using a RN pole on a SN bracket have any suggestions? I have a RN bracket, but didn't want to get into any more glass work. I reinforced the area in plans to use my SN bracket and have already tapped out the reinforcement for the SN bracket.

Hold tight. x2rags and i are working on a nice bracket for this conversion. This way you won't have to grind down the pole comprimissing integrity (mine cracked from this in daytona) and it will still come up as far or farther then you need.

If you can't wait try pat at xmetal...i have heard me may have something in the works. But currently x2rags and i are getting a prototype to test then we'll run a few small batches for the peeps here.

In the meantime...i would cut my own poly washers or use pwc to space it. SS whasher worked but the pole would alway get looser. I never found a good permanent solution which i why we have a prototype being drawn up in cad right now. :ugh2:

since it looks like your waiting on me i will give you an update. what i got in the pic are both brkts and a completely mint un-molested rn pole never installed. my goal is to make a bolt and go system. basically a sn base rn mount. i also want full extension without grinding on the pole. the pivot will more then likely be a little higher then the sn's for this to happen, but not much. i have most of the measurements needed and hope to have a cad model by next weekend. but this is still a good ways away from having any to sell. i want to thoroughly abuse these before i send them to anyone. hopefully me and turbo626 can test a couple at the chicken bone. after the model is done im still held up some just cause of the trip and some other projects taking all my money.
as soon as i feel confident this is a good strong product i will put a list together and go from there.
thanks
matt

you shouldnt have to raise the bracket much to compensate for not having to grind since (im assuming) the piece youre making will have a thinner base than the cast oem bracket. id think that if you had the pivot holes up the same distance from the mounting surface of the stocker, it may fit without grinding the pole or raising the pivot point.

ive done the rn pole on oem sn bracket mod before. here are some pics from a thread i started http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/9516) ... sorry for the low res cell phone cam quality...

I've busted both the bracket and the cast part of teh pole from grinding. It compromises integrity of the parts far too much for my style of riding. I am looking for something as bullet-proof as the xmetal brackets for the rn.
