smc and fiberglass

I need to lay up some fiberglass on my ski, what type of glass do I need that will hold on to the top and bottom (smc) deck's of the superjet.
will any boat repair kit from the hardware store work. or do I need some thing that will bond to smc.

Use a good quality epoxy resin. Most of the store kits that you are referring to are polyester resin and won't work. Surface prep is also important. Make sure the surface is well roughed up with 50 grit or larger sandpaper.

Fiberglass is fiberglass is fiberglass,what you are talking about is the resin and you need epoxy resin for smc also you have to rugh up the surface of the smc for anything to adhere to it,that means at a minimum sand it with 60 grit paper,grinding is better and makes for better adhesion.

So polyester resin will work on the fiberglass part of the ski but won't bond to the smc,

epoxy resin is what I need to get thanks for the help, I would hate to use the wrong stuff,

epoxy is better for the fiberglass part too.
