SLOW STARTING 650????

Guys-

Here is what i got right now...

1993 sj sn 650.... starts slow... real slow.... barley cranks... obviously it doesn't fire...

ran fine all day, then we took a break, went to start up again and its almost like a dead battery.... but not.... I checked and charged it.... also even tried a different battery.... same symptoms...

Pulled the ebox and wiring system.... got everything hooked up for a bench test and I am getting; 12 volts on the battery... between the starter solenoid... but at the starter, when applying power... I am getting 6-7 volts tops.... (remember no load on this....bench test)

I take it my starter is the problem??? Any thoughts????

THANKS

TRB

Its just just hard to tell if its starting strong on the bench... I think this has to be under load to really tell.... but if i just connect jumpers direct its seems strong just hard to tell.... thats why Im trying to look at the volts and whats right there...

Everything hooked up right... seems like i have from the two terminals on solenoid 12 volts then when i crank it drops to 3-4 volts....

Test the battery when its under load, if your only get 6-7 volts to the starter it's most likely not the starter, some battery have what's called a residual charge and may show 12 volts but when under load they will drop down to a lower voltage
