So I just put my blaster together. I got a 61 x motor from my buddy. It had the ground wire attached to it cause he couldnt get it off. But he fired the motor when it was in the ski he bought it with. I installed the cable on the starter and the battery cable.

I get nothing even if I do the screw driver across the starter relay. So I am wordering could a bad either pos battery cable or the starter cable cause this to happen or in this cause nothing to happen?

I just tried hooking up the neg cable and taking the cable right to starter and touching it to the battery and nothing so. I am guessing its my cable to my starter since my buddy said the ski started right up with the other cable.

sounds like it. take a multimeter across the ends of the positive lead and see if you have continunity between them. do that with the negative lead too. just take the ends of the multimeter and go end to end. if you meter beeps then you should hear a beep. if not well then time to make up a new wire lead. use quality ends too. don't just crimp them. i like to solder and shrink wrap mine. one less thing to worry about

Since he could get the ground cable off (How does that even work?), I would be suspicious of that cable.
Attach another ground cable from the negative battery terminal to somewhere on the engine block. Then try it again.

sounds like on of them is bad. either way i'd consider replacing them both with a quality home made replacement. just make sure to use the same gauge wire. don't go thinner wire, any good hardware store should have everything you need. and get stranded wire not solid.

So I dont have multimeter at the moment so I tried a couple of different cables. and a few different relays. I am getting it to turn over by putting the screw driver on the relay but nothing with the start stop switch so I am starting to thing that might be the issue.

Guess I will take the one off my sj and try it on the blaster and see
any other ideas?

if you unplug the ss switch you can jumper the brown and red together (on the ebox side) and leave black/white disconnected to make sure the switch is bad. if it turns over like that, then your problem is on the switch side of the plugs vs the box side if it doesn't turn over.

Thanks once again Xh20 and everyone on it. I took the two wires that go to the ss on the ebox side and crossed then. It would crank then. So I took my ss apart and seemed like the lanyard switch was kind of stuck in side so once I played with that it would crank.

Going to gas it up tomorrow and see if she starts up.

Thanks guys
