Super Jet ski will rev fine but struggles to move

Hey guys so I just finished a 701 swap in my 91 Superjet and it was great the first couple rides. but two rides ago when turning sharp and slowing down enough to have to pull back on plane, the ski would almost "free rev" and not pull from time to time for a second or two. last time i went out it did it constantly. if i slowed down at all or turned sharp and it didn't stay on plane, it would take roughly 20 seconds of wide open or half to wide open throttle to get it moving. after holding it wide open it would slowly move then just after creeping up on plane, it would take off, but still not go full speed. i pulled the pump and the drive shaft splines are fine. any help with what it might be?

my pump seal was a lil salty and it caused that problem I just cleaned it and coated it with a lil grease and it cured my problem like that

Just the little piece of rubber with the metal ring? it wasn't lined up very well when i took it apart... that could be it. i fixed it when i reassembled it so ill have to go test it out. thanks! ill let you know if that fixed it
