Uship is not working out. We are getting stupid quotes for like $1400. Trying to avoid forward air because of the drive for both of us to the terminals. Anybody know a guy or a company that will pick it up and deliver it door to door with insurance?

I used YRC to ship my last ski from FL to TX, built a big heavy box, etc. It was $180

Try YRC or Freightquote I use a lot in the aviation biz.

I recently used Forward Air for shipping a truck transmisson from Milwaukee to Denver. Shipped for $125. overal weight was like 230 lbs. For them you drop off and pick up at their terminal which may or may not be worth it for some people. as for crating something up I would touch base with them, but i assume you could send a ski pretty cheap if it would work out.

An hour ago I used Forward Air in Forest City, GA to ship a RoadRunner 6 pack hood VERY fragile and oversized to Dallas and it was all of $80.
I have been very happy with Forward Air service and price AS LONG AS YOU DO TERMINAL TO TERMINAL.
House to HOUSE ads big money to the price.

Yeah, I will check them now. YRC is pretty sweet, $489 door to door, with $20K of insurance, but you have to crate it, and you have to provide the crate, they don't pack or crate it, they just curb side service and pick it up, and are the carrier. Freight quote said they can't do it, haul bikes, says it don't roll so no can do unless on tralier, but if over 58 inches tall on trailer, then no can do. Uship I finally got a question, but we'll see if they take the max bid of $600. I will now hit up forward air, and see what they can do for me, I don't mind paying some money to get it safely from door to door, or going and getting it that's not a big deal. Kent is like 1 hour or less from me. Thanks guys!

Ok, called up Forward Air, they will provide the crate at the terminal in Atlanta, so like 90 minute drive for our man mcdog, and then to me in Kent, so 60 min or so drive to get it, takes 5 days or so lead time, costs $650 and takes 4 days across the US coast to coast. So that's that. So yup, about $750 or with insurance is looking like what it costs. The best deal for Sure!! I YRC, if mcdog can put it in a crate!

Dang, closed, I'll hit em up on Monday. BTW, forward air, you must click on motorcycle shipping for the quote and book it as a crated deal for the whole ski. It's $1 per 100 in value.

I use a guy for shipping that has mac daddy closed in trailers. He ships custom cars motorcycles jet skis ect. Has bunks in the trailer. No crate needed. I sent a KTM dirt bike from Florida to Washington for about 400. He will send you a quote higher but you can negotiate with him. He picks it up at your house and drops it off at the location you provide. His neme is Rob Tetrev and his business is Cruzin Chrome phone 641-757-2819 Email is cruzinchrome@yahoo.com his website is www.cruzinchrome.vpweb.com good luck he is a great guy.
