You would think spending bigg dollars on a pump that you'd get the parts right when they shipped out

first had a superjet cone come with my pump locking it up
so i sent it back and recieved a different cone for my 142 mag

go to line it up on the pump and the holes are mis matched

So i figured some drilling would be sufficient rather than dealing with them again

But wow

Custom BABY, Pay big $$$$$ for POOR service and HORIBLE lead times. Crankwerx is the same, WDK the same HE!! they are all the same. But we have no choice most of the time. It is what it is in this and most other custom hobbies.

I just had them build me a brand new 144mm 12 vein setback Mag and the brand new shaft was burred slightly causing the new impeller to bind after only 5 threads in. It ended up galling the threads and locking the impeller to the shaft. I shipped the whole thing back to them where they had to cut the impeller off the shaft. They replaced the impeller and shaft free of charge and covered shipping fees. I would have preffered it not mess up in the first place but I am pretty happy with the way things ended.

It is worth noting that in these slower economic times, most of the shop help has been let go and the 2 guys in the shop on the tools now may not have had to get their hands dirty for a few years if you get my drift.

There is usually a reason for the porr quality or service in any case. Bottom line is that there is not a HUGE demand for what we need so it is not assembly line work by any means. Weather its a hull or hood or pump or a motor or whatever it is there is a certain level of tollerence we have to allow on time and even quality. While it seems there is a huge mark up on these parts if you look at the time it takes one person you would see where it comes from. Plus no one stocks these parts anymore, who can afford the $$$$ upfront for supplies to stock a low volume item?

All I was saying is that you better be prepaird for this type of service, long lead times and quality when buying big ticket custom items in our sport.

Skat is no different than 90% of the other vendors related to this industry.
