I have 2 switches with wires, and they are both different. The original one is spliced for a bilge, and doesnt work correctly now because of that. it has the SQUARE ends on it, that plug into your electrical box ( i think?)

Starvin Marvin gave me one that he had laying around, that he got with a purchase. this is what the ends of the wires look like, they are not the typical square ends...

I need to know whats right, and if this one shown in the picture is useable?

Sure! just use some rivits. Ok, ok, I just had to.

Looks like you will have to cut the 'box plug' off if you use those connectors from marvin's ski.

the box connector is a piece of ****. use marine water proof bullet connectors with lots of dielectric grease.

Just for fun you can touch the red and brown together to start your ski and then the white and black to stop it. good times...

I put a 20year old 550 Kawasaki switch ($10 eBay) on mine and it has lasted great in saltwater. They are sealed much better than the yamaha switches, but there's no lanyard switch.

The interlock problem is that the ski wont turn over even with the lanyard attached. If you jiggle it or pull up on the lanyard sometimes it will work but sucks when you are in the middle of lake MI and it wont start.

Any radio shack will sell different style plug end's so you can cut,crimp/solder & configure to what ever you need demands. They are fairly cheap & come in single to multiple wire set ups.I as well have a js550 & had to do some mod's myself because of prior owner doing the same thing
