SJ stalls at full throttle

08 SJ and I havn't changed anything in the tuning or parts recently so I don't know what's wrong.

It could possibly be something the the fuel rail or line. I havn't had time to check

I'll be cruising at 1/2 throttle or so or in spurts at full throttle for jumping, etc and it's fine, but if i pin it in a straight line it goes great at full speed for about 5 sec and then stalls like it's not getting fuel. it will start right back pretty quick and some time i can keep it running around idle speed then get going again.

check build on link below if you want to see what it has done to the engine to help diagnose

Any ideas?

i had the same issues with mine. turned out that the fuel line near the tank was aparently squeezed by the hood. you may have to check the internal filters in the carb and the gas tank.

In order of ease to check:

1. Fuel tank vent like was said above
2. In line filter between tank and carb
3. Internal filter inside the carb itself (mine did the same thing and this was the problem)

That little thing is smaller than a thimble and cloggs pretty easily.

Good luck

I'm not much a mechanic, but if you can pin it near shore and shut it off before it stall, bring it in, and pull the plugs...see if its like a nice golden brown color. If its white you're lean...not getting enough fuel. Be careful not to stick your piston (as I have twice this year)...because at full throttle I was running too lean (problem somewhere in my fuel system as well...i'm just waiting until the end of the season to figure it out. luckily both times i stuck my pistons they unfroze themselves...i just try not to go full throttle for more than a few seconds).

run it on the reserve side of the switch and see if it still does it...

I always ride my sj on reserve...it bogs on the "on" setting and I'm too lazy to fix it during the season. It really could be as easy as just putting your ski on reserve...then just fix it when it gets cold. That's what I'm doing.
